Here are a few internet tools and internet cousins I’ve come to love over the years. Some of these contain affiliate links that offer you a discount while putting a little something in my pocket.

What is it: Canva is Photoshop for those of us without a degree ins graphic design.

Why I love it: It’s so simple. You can find tons of tutorials or classes online or Youtube for Canva, but it’s just as easy (and fun!) to dive in and play around. Create flyers for a garage sale, social media graphics for a client, business cards for play dates, or even tent placement cards for a wedding. The site is versatile in it’s offerings. It even integrates with a bevy of apps. I use Pro which unlocks a lot of features but their free version is just as amazing.

My favorite feature: Though I don’t have use for it in my one business, I love playing with mock-ups. There’s nothing like seeing your logo or design on a t-shirt, mug, or notebook!

Affiliate discount: premium freebies

What is it: Dubsado is a client relationship manager (CRM) for consultants, coaches, photographers, wedding planners, doulas, etc.

Why I love it: I love that I can automate my sales funnel with Dubsado Workflows. Their education portal is amazing. Lots of learning tools and a community of business owners are available for anyone in need of help understanding this powerhouse.

My favorite feature: Templates! They have contracts, questionnaires, and proposals that make it a lot easier than starting from scratch. And if you want to pull in a Word doc, it will convert it for you!

Affiliate discount: 20% off your first month or year.

Who are they: CFE is an organization dedicated to certifying BIPOC coaches. Their goal for 2022 is 500 BIPOC coaches.

Why their mission matters to me: As a BIPOC coach, I sat in a room with others and felt like I belonged. I felt like I was sitting at a family reunion with a slew of cousins I wanted to know better. After 5 months, I did. It is one of the strongest bonds I have with a group of internet cousins. I highly recommend applying if you are or choose to be a coach and identify as BIPOC.

Why you should donate to their cause: The coaching industry is currently dominated by one intersection: white women. What I have learned in my coaching and training is that many of my clients prefer to have a coach/therapist/consultant that understands their lived experience and that of their audience. This means that BIPOC and male clients are underserved. By donating to CFE, you could help close this gap.

Who is Marie Deveaux: Marie is a coach and consultant and owner of High Tides.

Why she’s awesome: She is a motivator, a great listener, and will have you knocking out items on your To-Do list within weeks. As a coach, I compare all to her. She’s gotten me unstuck in so many places and is responsible for much of my business growth over the last 2 years. I can’t praise her enough, but I’ll stop so she doesn't blush.

How she can help you: If you are a female entrepreneur, Marie’s Afro Business Cookhouse, is a mastermind for getting your business in order. With workshops, coaching, and Sankofa circles, you’ll find a community of like-minded women who are willing to pour into you and your business. Just want to hang out? Check out She Runs It, her group on Facebook.
